Yams

I was waiting for this day. These yams have grown very well in the very wet conditions here during the rainy season. We imported them here from another region, waiting to hear what they taste like.
Yams are often confused with sweet potato, but they are not even distant cousins!!
We grow yams and sweet potatoes to give alternatives to maize.

I was in Sonda, we tried to dig some yams. they are so big and the guys were very happy to see the size of the yams.
The potatoes have grown well, the strawberries are looking great.

I went to Sonda Primary School to meet the head teacher on the school block issue.
