Vigilance

Met John today and he took me on a tour of the ****** Ranch, where he is Foreman. This is his 1 yr old "cattle dog-in -training", ( I forget her name).

We left the gate open when we came through, not realizing that there was a cow off in the grass nearby. When he noticed the cow, he instructed the dog to watch the gate, in case the cow tried to come thru. She promptly parked herself, just as you see her in this pic, and never took her eyes off the gate for at least 15 min.

Im guessing you all are much more accustomed to well trained stock dogs than we are...they would be rare in the states, but she was a marvel to me.
