Shaggy parasol

I find something new in my garden almost every time I go out there. I've got into the habit of taking a camera, even if I'm only going to pick a few radishes or something, because I'm bound to see something like a butterfly that won't wait while I go and fetch it.

I first spotted this yesterday, when it was rounder, and consulted iSpot for an ID. I have a collection of field guides, including one on fungi, but it's not always easy to work out what things are.

Look at the texture of the cap of this toadstool; I think it's rather beautiful.
