The Marmalade Fly

This is a male Marmalade Fly. I know it's a male as the eyes are holoptic (both left and right compound eyes meet at the top of the head). They are very useful pollinators in your garden and the larvae eat aphids. I also got a photo of a Bluebottle and a Honey Bee.

My friend Daff has also blipped a Marmalade Fly today (hers is a female).
