Pop up
Rushing to get this in before the witching hour.
Not a great blip but taken from great venue - the 'pop up' Sky Bar, penthouse at 'The Point', only open on the last Thursday of every month. Great view of the Castle - tonight through the drizzly rain, although it had cleared up a bit by the time I took this with irritating internal reflections. As everybody said, last night ......
It was a SBC meet up so lots of diverse chat with interesting people. A and I seemed to spend a lot of time talking about the vagaries of working in local government, but 'twas fun.
Have you noticed how everything is a 'pop up' these days? Pop up bars, pop up dining, pop up shops, pop up exhibitions ( e.g. 'Stills'). Celarly a sign of the times.
There more pop ups this morning. Woke early and decided to avoid doing The Task I Have Been Avoiding All Week and look at renewing the house insurance, on-line, instead. 5 minute job I thought, 2+ hours and many pop ups later I now have the said insurance, but what a struggle. RBS website wouldn't work properly and kept giving me an incorrect address for the flat (it's the databases that can't cope with 1F1 as well as a property number etc) so I had to resort to a 'real' person. Another thing scored off the list and I got Molly insured - just in case she keeps sitting on the outside window sill in the sun and falls off!
I also joined the City Car Club, so now I'll have wheels and the ability to spend endless hours in B&Q and IKEA and Tesco, the joy. I'd been resisting it for ages but with the flat refurb on the horizon and no sign of pater relenting, City Car Club it is. But don't let me stop walking.
Dentist this afternoon, in the rain, but least said about that and I DID do TTIHBAAW. Finished, completed, e-mailed off. Yippee.
Tomorrow it's off to New Register House to investigate the murky secrets in M's family history. I like good mystery - don't you? Oh and the National Museum of Scotland reopens. Definitely a must, but maybe not tomorrow - got the 'M&S - you're a valued customer (sub text come and spend more money with us) event' and of course the Debenhams 'we're practically giving things away free, esp if you have a Debenhams card (and I do)' sale. NRH shuts at 4.30 - plenty of time for retail therapy!
