Pal's Diner

Coincidentally, I was in the vicinity of Pal's today and thought it would make a nice bookend with Rosie's.

This diner car was built in 1954, also in New Jersey, and in 1993 it was brought to Grand Rapids, Michigan in one piece by the current owners. Fully restored, the diner is just as quaint and charming as Rosie's. Menus are similar with Mom's this or that and homemade specialties. Burgers are king at both establishments.

Pal's retains its original name, taken from the first owner's greeting, "what'll ya have, Pal?" While in New Jersey, the diner was frequently patronized by guitar great, Les Paul, and that's a fun piece of trivia :)

The diner looks much better at night with all the neon lit up but alas and alack, this is what you are getting today.
