To Upper Wharfedale
This is one of my very favourite views, especially late evening, looking north from the shoulder of Beamsley Beacon up the Wharfe Valley. The prospect is wonderful. Miles and miles of the most beautiful countryside, criss-crossed with quiet lanes. A cyclist's paradise.
I rebuilt my bike after work and went out for a spin with No.2 son tonight, missing the very first Ilkley Cycling Club Time Trial, but even I had enough common sense not to push myself on that this evening! My legs still had nothing to give and the offspring enjoyed seeing me experience some pain. It's usually the other way around!
Yesterday's Rowan Berries had a distinctly autumnal feel, which was noted by a few people. This was deliberate because it felt like a very autumnal kind of day all around. This little Rowan tree stands about five feet tall and is growing in my gutter! Possibly not the best place for it to have rooted itself. This might explain why it's leaves are turning colour so early. Possibly not getting all the nourishment that it needs.
