Dog watching.
When I saw these sheeps watching Scamp pass by I told him to remain still while I grabbed iPhone from pocket and took their portrait.
I think they look outrageously hilarious in their new summer coats. The farmer at Seathwaite had had the shearers in and as I arrived the dogs were escorting the (not so any more) woollies back out of the fell gate into the open land. the place was ramjamfull of holidaymakers who were enjoying the 'entertainment'. Farmer never once looked up from his task of course, never acknowledged the presence of onlookers. His dogs said hiya to Scamp. At least I think they were being friendly from their vantage point locked in back of farmers pickup. Either "hiya" or "wussy city dog with your glossy coat and ponsy collar" - "get a bloody job"
Trip up the fells tonight. Seathwaite to Esk Pike with a lengthy stop at Esk Hause for photos. ALL my DSLR shots were rubbish and I won't be keeping any.
Tripod too flimsy for my heavy 300mm f4 and gripped body.
Tops too cloudy to photograph
Valleys too hazy to photograph
But then, what would I rather have carried all that way up there than
two bodies
300mm lens
28-135mm lens
2x converter
tripod
monopod
various cables and chargers
Oh yeah, a bloody drink!!
