Yellow

I FINALLY FOUND ONE!!! I went to Googleland with the words "yellow butterfly", and had quite a few options from which to pick. The third site was full of pictures, and I found one similiar to mine. It is a Papilio Glaucas. An Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.

Now I know where the movie Papillon got its name from. The movie stars Steve McQueen, and he has a big butterfly tatoo on his chest.

The movie was one of my most embarrassing moments. We got there late. I lagged behind to get popcorn. The opening of the movie is set in a very dense and dark jungle. I didn't see my wife, and she didn't call out for me.

I baby-stepped ahead, and picked out an empty seat. IT WASN"T EMPTY!! I sat rather squarely on some guys left upper leg. Instead of being a gentleman about it...he gave me a firm push. I half-stumbled out into the aisle, but didn't lose even a kernel of popcorn. (Good thing I had eaten the "good stuff" off the top while looking for my seat.) I retreated to the door to get my bearings...to wait for the movie to leave the jungle...and...forget about finding a seat...I needed to find my composure.

I finally found my wife. She harshly asked..."Where have you been? I've been waiting for the popcorn." I tried to tell her I had just been intimate with some guys knee. I started laughing and couldn't stop. I had to leave again. By the time I returned...McQueen had already escaped from prison twice. (Not really.)

This butterfly was lighting on the dried-up part of the river. He was sharing his space with some stranded clams...which I didn't even know were in these parts. He was a pretty mellow yellow fellow.
