Glacial Chess Piece
Up early for a biggish hill day , started off in blue skies and then the mist came out of nowhere. It was going to be interesting navigation so I headed off for plan b. Good choice as the wee hill was clear as the surrounding area capped with low cloud.
White tailed sea eagle flew above, on the summit lots of skats and pellets from a big bird of prey, I also found a big feather. Brought a pellet and feather back for the kids to see.
Back to the family and we headed east to the big town for supplies. Popped up to Tolsta beach for a walk.
Fish and chips then home.
Eco son and I headed out for a sunset hill, on the summit at 9.30 looking at a bright sun, could not really hang around as coming off in the dark would not be great. It was wonderful colours, clear air and cracking views. Eco son and I found a black back gull dead, everything all ok except the fleshy chest ripped apart and gone, a big bird must have taken it.
A pleasant run down the hill, with eco son taking the lead in his new fell shoes. We tracked the burn back scattering the trout as we passed.
Just by the car the loch was raindrops of rising trout with a cracking hebridean blue with a streak of orange sun. Back just before midnight.
Another great day, all these sunsets and I have chosen the curtain of mist arriving.
