Surfs Up...

A beautiful sunny day with a fresh breeze billowing the curtains. The past two days have been so cold that today almost feels like summer albeit only 11 degrees.

Took coffee this morning at St.Clair cafe. Tide in and surf high so plenty to watch. Lovely sitting with the sun at our backs and the fresh breeze on our faces. Looked for the Southern Right whale seen in this neighbourhood yesterday with the rope of a crayfish pot wrapped around its body and tail - but no luck.

Hope it can be found so that an attempt to remove the rope can be instigated. Specialists from Kaikoura are standing by. They successfully removed twinned rope from the fluke of a sperm whale found in Cook Strait just last week. That whale seemed to know that the mere mortals were there to help as it stayed still for the half hour it took to cut the rope away. How special would that feel?!!

Will post back blips later...
