Two Dollar Bill
The front of this note is not very interesting, other than the fact that it has the portrait of Thomas Jefferson on it. Otherwise, it's just like any other US paper currency, with the exception that it says "Two" instead of "One" or "Five" or "Twenty".
This particular two dollar bill has never been in circulation. It was released on April 13, 1976. [In Large you can see the postmark more clearly.]
On the day it was released, I took it to the post office in Hamburg, NY and had it stamped and postmarked to authenticate it as a first date of issue bill and put it away for safe keeping.
In keeping with the fact that it has the father of the Declaration of Independence on the front, the scene on the back is of the signing of that Declaration. It's pretty cool and I think more intricate than most of our other currency.
Too bad it was wasted on the two dollar bill.
