Rebecca

Meet Rebecca! She has autism but has developed strategies to deal with Life in this world. She struggles in certain situations and we do our best to limit these or reduce distress. She's a gorgeous child and I'm often desperate to give her a big hug but this would cause her too much distress so we find other ways to show our love. She makes me laugh at times....

Sister: Hold your horses Rebecca!
Rebecca: But I haven't got any horses.
Sister: I know, it means wait or slow down.
Rebecca: I would like a horse. A horse would be great. Wish I had a horse.

We have to really think about what we say so as not to confuse her.

Spitting all day but we still managed to play out and get to the big park in town.
