Thistle Down

By Ethel

Accepted

We must accept ourselves,
For what we have been given.
There are others less fortunate,
Of the blessings of heaven.

There is a need to love,
And to be concerned with others.
For they who walk the earth,
Are sent by God...as brothers.

Imperfect souls...are we,
Walking side by side.
One bowed down in failure,
And one with haughty-pride.

Wanting to be accepted,
Lacking strength to meet their trial.
But desiring in their limitations,
To make their life...worthwhile.

If by our acts...and words,
We do what ere we can.
To make alighted pathway,
To love our fellowman.

Then...shall we rise to heights,
And in loving ways...can laud.
He...who is our brother,
As we grow to meet...our God.
