horseshoes

yes i know it's obvious!

this pile has been here in the village where my daughter now lives, to my certain knowledge, for many years. in pre children days, we were on a car treasure hunt & looked for the answer to a clue, up & down the street, out of the village & back in, our driver becoming tetchier by the second! eventually we gave up, were last to the final meeting point, & won the wooden spoons, which i used for many years. i suppose they were ultimately more use than the first prize booze - but less fun!

the answer was the horseshoes - how could we have missed them?!
