Ross Fountain and Edinburgh Castle

Took a trip into Edinburgh today by train so that John could spend his Father's Day voucher in Wonderland (model shop). For once no railway modelling stuff was bought and he treated himself to an airbrushing set .

We met up with Fiona at lunchtime and then walked through Princes Street Gardens . The floral clock was a bit of a disappointment with many of the flowers dead. I hope they will be replaced. Also a cause for concern was the number of litter bins absolutely full with bags of stuff all around them. What is the council thinking about when we are trying to attract tourists to Scotland. This is our capital city!(This was also the case two weeks ago when we went to South Queensferry. It was busy and all the people there to see the Forth Bridges must have been horrified to see litter bins overflowing) .

Really enjoyed the day and we popped in to see Ali and Euan later which is such a pleasure . We always get such a lovely welcome and big smiles!
