Sunset Fishing Cotton Tree
I had an optometrist appointment this afternoon at Cotton Tree. I decided to head back down to the pelicans and see what they were up to.
Cotton Tree is on the mouth of the Maroochy River (there are Cotton Trees there). There is also a very large caravan park and camping area, and lots of "grey nomads" (retirees with large caravans or motorhomes) spend weeks here during Winter because the weather is mild, and they literally are a few steps away from the sand.
It was a glorious 23 degrees today. Not a cloud in the sky, and the pelicans were helping out the fishermen (as usual). There is a lot of bream and tailor around at the moment, so the fishermen were out in numbers.
There is usually a gathering of the people in the caravan park, with glasses raised and cheeseboards out toasting to a wonderful day in paradise. It is such a wonderful caravan park and one of my favourite places to take the dogs.
