life....

Dynamic day.

Had a rare free Sunday, so decided to take the wee one to our favourite retro cafe, with the great music, so as usual, we ate, we danced, we sang, and had a great lunch.

We then decided to go to dynamic earth. A client had suggested it, saying there was lots to do, and the wee one would love it. So off we trotted, unsure of what to expect, except I imagined lots of things for the wee one to press, and play with...

It certainly was an experience. There was a tour, which began with a time machine. A dark lift with pictures if the world, all the way back to the big bang. It wasn't a busy day there, so we were the only two there. She clung to me like a wee monkey, which I was quite thankful for, because I admit I was apprehensive to say the least. That finished with a big...er bang... And we were met by a guide who took us into a spaceship. At no point did they say this wasn't real, so the wee one fully believed we were flying. Bless. So, history of space, earth, the stars and sun, in the dark, and me, still scared, but impressed too. Onto the volcano.
A room filled with rock, with shaking floors and lava and noise! I again was scared, as the floor shook and the room creaked, but the wee one clung on.

Various other rooms, including the ice age, and a rainforest room, then concluded with a 4d flight simulation with birds, deer, insects and a crash. With an added rhino, sniffing around. I loved that the wee one believed they were flying around her, with her wee glasses on. It really was quite impressive, and scary, as I hadn't had any warning of what to expect.

After that we hopped on a tour bus, after a wee walk round an old fashioned bookshop, where I bought her a Roald Dahl book, (but also to add to my collection of childrens books that I have been building for twenty years.)

She loved the opened topped bus, and the sunshine was beautiful.

All in all a very special day, but when I asked what her favourite bit was,

She replied "mixing the slush puppies" which we had done while sitting outside dynamic earth. :-)

Ah well. Hope you had a wonderful sunny day. :-)
