Lift Off

I had been taking shots of this guy sitting on top of a pole at the boat ramp and jetty on Oyster Channel (Yamba) when he flew down and landed near me - the pelicans are used to the fishermen throwing them the scraps when they are cleaning their fish. I kept moving closer to him until he got edgy and took off. Thanks to a hint from one of the blippers here who posted a similar shot of a bird taking off and who said to always be ready for the "take off" I managed to get this shot. Also got some lovely ones today of the sunset over Oyster Channel but figured the sunsets will always be there - but I may never get this shot again.
