London

I spent my last full day walking around London alone. First the British Library (which is just beautiful on the inside), and then down to the south bank for The Globe, the Tate Modern, the Millennium Bridge, across to St. Paul's and back around to Tower Bridge.

It wasn't much, but it's the first time I'd spent any time there at all in maybe 15 years. Usually, it's just an obstacle between the airport and the train to my ultimate destination.

I'd forgotten how crowded London is - Atlanta feels positively empty by comparison. And yet it's so much easier to walk there than in Atlanta, even with all the traffic.

I guess we build our cities (outside of a few exceptions) for cars and cars alone. If you're walking in the US, it's assumed you're just some poor sucker on your way to, or from, your car.

My trip is over tomorrow - I have to leave to return home. Very sad about that.
