Moorhen

Mother with two chicks. Moorhens are not ducks and do not have webbed feet. They are of the same family as Rails and Coots. Notice the feet of the chick.

Made an early morning expedition to Sweetwater Wetlands in Tucson. Sky was overcast because of the moonsoon moisture, so I had to up the ISO introducing some noise which had to be corrected in Lightroom.

Sweetwater is a man-made wetlands designed to further treat wastewater and provide wildlife habitat. It is located adjacent to the Pima County Wastewater Reclamation Facility. It has nice trails and observation areas for watching the birds that are attracted by the water.
