Roy Ayers with Pete Rock

We saw the fantabulous Roy Ayers for the fourth time. He has paired up with a hip hop DJ called Pete Rock. There should really have been some kind of Ayers rock joke but it didn't materialise! I was a bit apprehensive before the gig. I love Roy Ayers style but I'm not into hip hop and frankly, I had never heard of Pete Rock before. But he didn't seem to mess much with Roy Ayers original sound and did a really interesting 'soul montage' with some really classic songs.
