Woof, woof, woof!
Was this not a perfect day for a kite festival?
It was difficult choosing from the many different designs which were all flying high on the beach. My two favourite kites were both octopuses. They were huge, with long flowing tentacles. If I were going to add any to the two kites we already have then it would be one of these sea creatures.
There were also flying cows, Wallice and Gromit, two different types of Pegasus, sharks, Nemo, sticks of rock, butterflies and so many others, dozens and dozens of them, flying spectacularly in the breeze coming in off Morecambe Bay.
Walking back to the car which was parked on the promenade with camera still around my neck, a car containing four young men, windows down, slowed in the traffic. The driver with a big smile on his cheery face asked, "Oi, ave ya bin tekkin' pictures?!"
Meanwhile his front seat passenger peered up at all the kites flying in the sunshine and was heard to say, "Wot are they...?"
These particular ones are doggies. B-i-g doggies!
