Paupers' Graves

During our walk in Stowmarket this morning Stella & I followed a new (to me) footpath and came across these paupers' graves. A sign states it's an "ancient burial ground dating from the early 1800s" but it looks like the area wasn't open to the public until about 2002 by which time I'd moved to the other side of town.

The place has really changed in the couple of years since I moved away. Lots of buildings knocked down (including the office block I used to work in!) & lots of new things built & being built. The farmer's field I most often walked my previous dog around is now a building site too.
