There's rain in them there hills....
Back-Blip #2
A cool night in the tent but a bright day when I woke. It hadn't rained overnight but, judging by the moisture on the tent, anyone would have thought it had poured - the dew was huge.
Down the West Coast, once you get to Haast (population 297) the road heads inland and up over Haast Pass, the lowest of the Southern Alps alpine passes. This has to be one of my favourire drives - lots of rivers, lots of mountains and little traffic. The scenery is spectacular so the drive of course takes an age because I'm forever stopping to look!!
This shot is of a localised rain shower up one of the many valleys. Well, it wouldn't be the West Coast without a little rain!!
