Red Dragonfly

I don't know if I've ever seen a red one of these before. There are crowds of dragonflies around this summer. Big blue and black ones that like to land on me, golden ones and today a hatch of these red ones. It's perched in the Nanking cherry hedge that I posted when it was in bloom. There's just a glimpse of a couple of plump red cherries to the right above the dragonfly. I usually leave them for the birds but they do make good jelly.
