In my yard - a new sunflower

In my (39C - 97F ) yard the and this sunflower is making it's debut to the intense heat. I blipped this as I really love the way the sunflower pedals are all so intertwined before opening.

I only plant sunflowers seed I find in the bird food... haven't you ever wondered what type of sunflowers they use to harvet for bird food. The best part is I never know what type will grow. Also much less expensive than seed catalogs. They grow just as good or better than seed catalog offerings also.
