Ramblings and Mutterings

A Fragile Life

Not too many words from me today as it is too personal to discuss, but just to say that this past week has made me realise how fragile life is. As an example before I left on Thursday this flower was in full bloom, until I took today's blip I hadn't realised how much it had deteriorated within one day.

Here is a poem by Jean Dament, 2011:

Everyday life hangs lightly in a delicate balance;
Where nothing should be left to chance;
And time should not be taken for granted...like it's something free,
Even though our problems can overwhelm us...we need to let them be;
And realise with God as our director, he'll always see us through,
Life always needs to be nurtured and cherished too;
Where we care enough for others and lend a helping hand;
So we can hold and treasure life, before it drifts away like sand.

You realise life is fragile-when you see love in another's eyes,
You realise life is fragile -when looking at a newborn child,
You realise life is fragile-when you see the beauty of nature,
You realise life is fragile-when you look at the sick, dying or elderly,
You realise life is fragile-when you see poverty and homelessness;

Thus Life is Fragile-Handle With Care.
