Flying Street Ballet and Other Sit Coms
If God had really intended men to fly, he'd make it easier to get to the airport. ~George Winters
Day out in Bradford for a dance festival, this lady was involved in some French cafe style street ballet. This was her being pushed around by her lover/customer in a fight of passion. Truly wonderful although it was unervingly like an episode of ' Allo ' Allo..half expected her to shout " Oh Reneeeeeeeeeeeee " in a gravelly voice!! Really well choreographed dance and the characters were flown around with great team work from the guys on the pulleys. Because it was an open air stage you got to see all the tricks in their raw form, no curtains to hide the stage hands who mastered some wonderful movements with the dancers.
Met up with Appertunity ( go check out his Blip of the day and it's his 300th) and we stood there bemused at the next act which was a cross between Harry Enfield's " Wayne Slob " character and Trev and Simon ( sorry for all none UK people, these references really aren't worth checking out on You Tube!!)... basically two men with fake beaver tails in their hair and lycra leggings that were just that one shade of lilac too light- I say this like any shade of lilac is becoming on a 45 year old man!!! Breakdancing in skin tight fabric sure draws the crowds though!!
Other bits and pieces going on, more ballet and some Quadrophenia style acts.
A different day out, I would have stayed longer but there were three children tugging at my cardigan who wanted to go home who knew full well that I would have stayed there blipping for at least another 2 hours had they let me!!
A nice little afternoon, also met Appertunity's much talked about partner, and we bumped into Sgwarnog aswell.
Bliptastic.
Oh and thanks for all your constructive feedback yesterday, I have read it all again and it's all very helpful.. perhaps I need to stop taking myself so bloody seriously
Have a good evening
