Painted Mirrors & Puppet Sex
Went to Columbus today to see Avenue Q at the Palace Theatre. If you are unaware, the show is rather dirty (potentially offensive) and deals with issues ranging from racism (a joke) to a recent college graduate's uncertainty about their purpose. There are seven actors and a total of twelve characters. So several of the actors had to perform two parts.
We had a bit of trouble finding the theater and a place to park. Ended up running through the parking garage and made it just in time. Then we found out that the seats we had purchased were taken! Someone had sat in our seats! So, one of the ushers moved us closer to the stage. :D We weren't complaining.
The show was fantastic, as expected. :) And...we watched two puppets have sex. Quite amusing, I must say. But I feel like the best part was still getting to watch the sign language translators off to the side of the stage. It was cool to watch the guy and the girl perform the show with their hands. Not to mention all the new 'dirty' words I now know in sign language.
*Bathroom Fireplace - this was in the ladies' restroom.
*Entrance Reminders - just thought it ended up looking kinda cool
After the show, Kat and I sought out a yellow mural
we had spotted earlier. The posted blip shot is from this site.
Other shots of the mural:
*Flat Tire
*Yellow Cars
I wish I could have seen it freshly painted. It must have been so cool.
