True Colours

These fields of ancient times...

A lot of students, on finding out that they have been placed in the Borders, feel a little crestfallen. The accommodation has no internet access and the phone signal availability is like a minefield to navigate. There is no Topshop or River Island, and you're a good hour away from a city in any direction. It's even a ten minute drive to get to Tesco for goodness sake.

But I love it, It's like coming back in time...back to when things were a bit more simple. Our nightly countryside wanders into the nearest villages have been the highlight of my week.

Maybe I'm just a country bumpkin, born and bred here, but I think it's a grand old place to be sent for a few weeks.

And, if nothing else, it makes you appreciate how easy things are in Edinburgh.
