Hot water beach!

Although you REALLY wouldn't know it from tis photo, this is Hot Water Beach up on the Coromandel peninsula. We are up here in Whangamata for a couple of days before returning to Murchison. Our old boss, Ross, took us out for a tiki-tour this morning up to Hot water beach. Apparently there are some geothermal areas on the beach,which, if you dig a bit in the sand fill with hot water and you can plonk yourself in them and have your own personal spa:-). The kids were game to go try them even though it was 'persisting' it down with rain and was pretty chilly. Here you can see Ross and Rimu wading through a tidal torrent in order to get the right spot! Don't you just love the umbrella too?
