That Wouldn't Put the Cat Out!
The day began with the discovery of a kitten in the front garden.
She was still there after a few hours & appeared to be in distress, so we brought her indoors. As she didn't have a collar & tag we couldn't call her owners, so after asking round the neighbours, we took her to the vet to see if she has a chip. She hasn't.
Pet owners! If you haven't done it already, please get your animals chipped!
Our own cat would probably bring an unhappy end to the kitten's short life. So she stays at the vet's & will go for re-homing if not claimed in a week.
We've put up posters locally so if her owners are looking, they will find out where she is.
In other news, my Mum is staying with us for a few days. A friend of her's has recently moved into an old folk's home nearby. Although they have kept in touch by 'phone & letter, they think they may not have actually seen each other since 1963! So this afternoon I drove Mum round to her friend's so they could meet up, have a natter & a cup of tea. Luckily they still seem to like each other!
The picture is of an 18th century fire engine at Osterley Park & has nothing to do with any of the above.
