Washington DC
Firstly I sweated more today than I have ever done before in my life! It turns out 46 degrees walking around in no shade is bloody hot! Enough of me moaning we had a president to meet!
We started at the George washington monument (pictured) and it is the tallest free standing building in the world! A collective ooooooo please, anyway we then visited the world war 2 memorial and Vietnam war memorial! I must admit I have no reason to be exceptionally moved by these, but when you see that close to half a million americans lost their lives, it is hard not to be moved!
We then had a walk to the Lincoln memorial and then to the white house! That is a bit of a let down can not see it and it is small! Then hit up a few museums and went up some towers to get a look at the capital from above before a Nando tea to wrap up my day in the capital!
Today was super fun but it also marks the end of the trek for everyone who is doing half the trek, this is upsetting going to lose a lot of close friends who will be very hard to replace in the second half of the trek! I shall dedicate tomorrow and our first day in new York to them so until then, av fun xx
