Get Back to Me

Crime Scene

Some points of clarification:

1. This is not a pretty snap of a cold, wet bumble bee, sheltering from the rain on a Rosebay Willow Herb flower.

2. This is the scene of a dastardly crime, that woke me, and kept me awake throughout the early hours of yesterday morning.

3.This blip entry is very late because I fell asleep while deciding which image to upload. I will be going back to sleep, as soon as this is done.

At 2.30 am, yesterday I was woken by the sound of a helicaopter hovering overhead. It wasn't actually that noisy, but the pressure waves, or vibrations were intense, and much more disturbing than the sound. Combined with the search light, scanning my garden and the lane, I was a wake for a considerable time. Then there were the police cars, doing a bit of rushing here and there, just because thats what they do.

And so, today the incident unfolded.. Just along the lane, 2 manhole covers had been lifted and the lead-bound, copper telecommunications cable had been cut through at each end.
A 4 x 4 vehicle had been used to pull the cable, some 150 metres long out from under the lane, and into a field at the side of the lane. A car passing had called the police, and the excitement ensued.

Nobody caught, a length of lead bound copper cable recovered, worth about £6,000 and a dozen houses left with no phone and broadband connection.

A crime that is apparently on the increase.
