The Story of Mary

Ever since Cameron was told about the sad demise of Mary, Queen of Scots by his papa, while on holiday, he has been fascinated by her. He keeps returning to the story, asking questions, most I cannot answer. We have had to re-assure him that heads do not get chopped off nowadays! It's difficult for a 6 year old to understand some things!!

Today, I picked him up from his house and as I had errands, we stopped off in town. Had a little trip into the Oxfam book shop and found, in the children's section this book. It's narrated by her maid, Mary Seton and is easy for 6 year old boys to understand. (Even I have learned something:-)!).

On Sunday past, we visited, by boat, Loch Leven castle, where Mary was held prisoner. We had to assure him that she did not lose her head in this castle. . . . . . . . .
