First of all, I was completely overwhelmed by all the beautiful comments for my 100th blip yesterday! Just blew me away. Thank you so much to all of you! Cider sends every last one of you a happy tail wag!



Several of you (mostly those from across the pond) have mentioned that you really like photos of the Midwest because it's so different from what you are used to.

So here is a typical (and beautifully-kept) Queen Anne-style Victorian house from where I grew up in Illinois. Built in the 1890s, it is about as old as any building you will find in this area. Illinois did not become a state until 1818 and there are very few vestiges of actual log cabins left. Most of them are museums...
