While on my runs

Winter training at Grey Lynn Park

A bleak winter's day in Auckland, and my run yielded a shot or two that I could have used, although without much enthusiasm.

Just before 6 pm, I was getting ready to leave to head to a neighbour's apartment for the Body Corporate Committee meeting, and at the same time helping my daughter collect the boys to go home. Looked out and saw this. Took a shot without the tripod. Every light became a pterodactyl of colour. So I got the tripod set up with the telephoto lens and took this picture, using the Pentax and telephoto lens.

Mr H arrived at my elbow, and asked what I was doing. Showed him the image in the review mode. "How did you do that?" So I took another to show him, and he said "The first one's better". So I asked if he wanted to do it, showed him what to do; he depressed the shutter, and took his own picture. When he heard the first click, he lifted his finger, the camera shifted slightly, and the lens was still open. It was a good picture, nevertheless and he asked for "a copy of the first one and [his] one".

Just back now, and able to post my blip which is another response to this week's challenge
