Pock Lington

After a morning of play in the house we headed out to Burnby Hall Gardens, in the hope that the weather would be better than it has been for the last few days. Grandpa told Toddler we were heading for Pock, and she automatically added the lington. This it would appear was a follow on to a discussion about Mine and Wife's trip to the cinema yesterday. Grandpa said we were in Pock and Toddler refuted this stating that we were actually in Pocklington.

At the gardens we sat outside for lunch, thankfully undercover, as into the first mouthful of a jacket spud, the heavens decided to open yet again. We ate and we waited for the rain to stop. As we waited a coach load of oldies arrived, most of whom braved the weather and headed out around the massive pond with their brollies and rain hoods at full mast. They were fun to watch, especially as they were all made of sterner stuff than me.

Once there was a reduction in the water flow we headed out into the dampness. We fed the fish, quacked to the ducks, hissed at the geese, ran around, got wet and then had ice cream before home to dry out yet again.
