Déjà vu @Toro
Mmmm I've eaten out way too much this past week, evidenced by the dramatic increase in Asian food pictures posted to Blipfoto. But fortunately, I can never have enough Asian food.
My midsummer internship evaluation was today and went much better than I'd anticipated, mainly because I have the best manager ever. So after telling my mom about it, she decided it was occasion enough for us to eat out at Toro. I'm pretty sure the waiters remembered me being there two days ago, especially because I ordered the vegetable chow fun again. ^^ And since I was only eating half of the chow fun (because the rest was being saved for lunch tomorrow), I also ordered spicy eel and avocado sushi.
Speaking of spicy food, my brother was eating his General Tsao's and decided to try a red chili pepper that had been cooked into the sauce. He choked and spat it out, dramatically gagging because he knew the whole family was watching. He's the biggest secret drama queen (king?). So given my recent propensity for spicy food--probably from its fond association with Korean food--I snagged a whole chili pepper, popped it into my mouth, and chewed. My family, particularly my brother, watched eagerly for me to react the same way. But the burning sensation was nowhere near as bad as it usually is, and it was almost pleasant. Maybe the skewed Korean standard for spicy food is taking over my tastebuds. Or maybe I'm just more of a masochist since I last tried a chili pepper.
Next step...Wasabi?
