Peeling from the inside
We often throw old apples into the garden for the blackbirds to peck away at. They generally vanish slowly, bit by bit. This morning I went out into the garden and found this.
It has been pecked into and eaten without damaging the skin! There is very little apple flesh remaining. The bird(s) have been very careful to keep the skin intact. It is amazing.
Now I'm unsure whether I should peel any old apples before I throw them out.
And the tiny little insect is a delightful accident. It was so small, I didn't actually realise it was there until I viewed the image on the PC.
