Holy helter skelter
We've picked a hot day for our trip to the Vatican - the guy in the local gelateria says it's 37 degrees, and it certainly feels it.
Everyone around St Peter's seems to be selling something: "are you English?" "Sistine Chapel, no queuing?" "you want pizza? Cheap restaurant nearby." The heat is oppressive, as are the long queues and crowds.
The treasures of the museum are overwhelming, and the kids are properly awestruck by the Sistine Chapel.
