It's the gospel

according to me. Visited Southover Church, Lewes this evening to watch friend Tracy perform with the Lewes Sings Gospel choir. A fine evening of gospel tunes and some others that have been adapted for the genre, such as Labi Siffre's "Something Inside So Strong" (the highlight of the evening), Sting's "Fragile" and Stevie Wonder's "Heaven Help Us All".

Lovely Tracy performed a brilliant solo with a rollicking rendition of "Jesus is a Rock" (which I failed to capture digitally; the phone chose to photograph in low low resolution). Special guest vocalist was X-factor finalist (2007) Beverley Trotman (shown belting out some powerful lyrics in this photo) and the choir was admirably conducted by Karen Gibson.
