Milky Ways
Finally broke free of my lazyitis today, taking a bike out along a trail that follows the lake before meandering through the Canadian countryside.
It was a wonderfully tranquil journey, and much of the scenery could have just as easily been back home in England.
In the evening Angie and Tim took us for ice cream at the Kawartha Dairy, a local family run place formed seventy four years ago. Now a large company supplying milk and milk-based treats to much of the surrounding area, it prides itself on its small town roots.
I ate more ice cream in one sitting than any human should, and despite feeling somewhat queezy afterwards it was totally worth it.
I went for three scoops of mint chip, mocha and their own creation, bear claw, a dark chocolate based concotion that was truly magical.
Other flavours doing the rounds included birthday cake, pralines and cream, choco-banana and cookie dough.
Afterwards we hit a coffee shop and played our travel edition of 'The Settlers of Catan' board game - the perfect end to a wonderful day.
