A Sweep For Good Luck...

Ralph Hentall's reputation for carving hand-crafted lovespoons is renowned throughout the world - he has written about his craft and made both television and radio broadcasts.



Eric and I went to Sandringham Craft Fair today, it was a wonderful day out. There were so many talented people, they made from home made food to wood carving, paintings, jewellery and knitting.

We went into one of the side stalls where there were people making bits and pieces out of wood.

I noticed this lovely little man, his name was Ralph, he was whittling away at a piece of wood, he was so clever, he had made some beautiful stuff, he had all these bits and pieces he had made over the years all stitched onto his hat.

I really was overwhelmed with the little wooden chains he had made, they were excellent.

He told me how he had whittled and carved them, and other little stories of his life.

I asked if I could take some photgraphs of him, he agreed. I asked if it was ok for me to upload them onto the net, he was more than pleased.

I loved Ralph, he is a wonderful man, such a magical person with a lovely smile. I am emailing him all the photographs I have taken of him today as he was so pleased with them.
