Homespun Charms

A gentle walking day

It was with some trepidation we set off in the morning. The weather forecast was not good with threats of heavy rain before the end of the day. In the rucksack we caried all the wet weather gear and Mike took a large umbrella! Of course it didn't rain and we were hot. The walk took us into Little Langdale, by Elterwater and Skelwith Bridge and we walked through lovely woodlands. It's good to see so many oak trees growing in the area and more are being planted. The whole walk was conducted in sunshine and we felt so lucky to be out in it. We had only just reached 'home' at the end of the afternon when it clouded over and the first rain began to fall. We have had a wonderful week with some very memorable moments, home tomorrow!
