Horses in Newmarket

Today Tubs and myself went off to Newmarket to get a birthday present as she is off to a sleepover/ party tonight.

Unfortunatly it has been raining a lot and so i didnt get a proper oppotunity to go round and blip the special designed horses.
More information about the horses is:

The schools have now painted their designs on to a small horse, ready to join the Carnival parade in June. The schools horses have been kindly sponsored by Suffolk County Councillor Bill Sadler.

Shadwell Stud has very generously offered to fund the prize money, for the winning school?s painted small horse to be judged at the Carnival. They are also funding one extra small horse.

One small horse funded by Newmarket Town Council has been painted by St Nicholas Hospice patients and staff. Racing Welfare also has a small horse funded by FHDC, which has been painted by a retired stable man.
There are 13 sponsors for the life size horses. The last horse to be sponsored was a syndicate of local businesses; David Jarvis Cars, Ian Button cars and Lettergold, and local artist Emily Jarvis will paint their horse. Other sponsors include: Darley Stud, Cheveley Park Stud, The National Stud, The Jockey Club, Tattersalls, John Gosden Racing LLP, The Bedford Lodge Hotel, Newmarket Town Council, Forest Heath District Council, Tesco Stores Ltd and Godolphin, The Guineas Shopping Centre/Ashdown Phillips & Partners Ltd.

Grateful thanks also to BBA Shipping who transported the horses in one of their lorries to Chassis Cabs in Bury St. Edmunds where they were varnished.

On the evening of 16th June 2011 there will be a Gala Evening attended by the artists and sponsors, and a winner of the competition will be chosen. The horses will be displayed on the Severals on Friday 17th June 2011 and at the Guineas Centre throughout May and June.

The horse photo i have taken is called "Shaded by Kirsty Sharman"

Hope your day isnt too soggy, have a good evening :)
