Had a feeling of anticipation and excitement all day knowing that I had a game of a 11 a-side football tonight. I probably only play 2 or 3 games of 11 a-side football a year. It was our group of Monday night 5 a-side lads v the boys who work at the Sports Council for Wales.

After 90 minutes, victory was ours. Final score: 7-2. Our defence was solid at the back, our midfield made their presence felt and our strikers took their chances superbly.

It was completely worth the debilitating cramp in my calves at 80 minutes, 'jogger's nipple' from the polyester tops and the knowledge that I won't be able to walk properly for a week........
