Thinking of my dear father.

Today we cleft wood, my husband sawed down an oak. When I had a big and nice piece of oak in my hands I was thinking about my father, who passed away 29th of May.

My father liked to make different things of oak. He made a lot of knife blocks for his children and his oldest grandchild, he made a lot of small boxes for tee bags or sugar for instance.

When I had such a nice piece of oak in my hands I thought: My father would have saved it to make something out of it, I save it for the next winter to keep it warm in our house.

I am glad my son and I have a knife block made by my father and my daughter and I have a tee box made by my father.
