Tall ships

The Tall Ships have begun to arrive into Kirkwall harbour, we went for a walk down to the harbour in the evening to see the first of the ships arriving. There is a lovely buzz about the town with lots of visitors and an impressive amount of entertainment arranged including Orkney's biggest 'strip the willow' (Scottish dance) which took place on the main street this evening - i'm sure all the visitors must think we're all mad!

The Tall Ships Race started in Ireland on 30th July and is due to finish on 8th Aug in Sweden. Looking forward to seeing all the ships in the morning.
